Chris + Anna | Oliveto Wedding
Get in touch with us about your wedding.
Chris and Anna had their wedding ceremony at Christ Church Gladesville and their reception followed at Oliveto Ristorante E Bar at Rhodes.
We asked them how they met, and they shared that they first met volunteering at a kids' summer school holidays program. "...It was not love at first sight - in fact we have very limited memories of each other from the program," they both shared.
"Our best friend (Anna's) and cousin (Chris's) also met at the same summer program and started dating, and after a few months [they] tried to set us up. Needless to say that their efforts paid off!"
How did you know your partner is "the one"?
Chris: Funnily enough, I knew that Anna is "the one" after a fight, and I realised that even in our hardest moments that I still loved her very much and wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.
Anna: a few things helped me to realise that Chris is "the one". 1. Before Chris does anything, he always looks at my interests and well being first 2. He is always so patient with me, even when I'm being unreasonable 3. He always makes me feel safe.
Chris, tell us a little about the proposal.
I started looking for an engagement ring around 2 months before the engagement and finally found the perfect place where I would be able to design Anna's ring (with the help of a jeweller of course, haha). After asking Anna's family for their blessing, it was agreed that I would propose on certain date which was considered lucky/auspicious according to the Chinese calendar - and this date just happened to be on the same date as my work Christmas party! I told Anna that I would leave the party early, and being the considerate person she is, she offered to take me home afterwards (I knew she would).
I wanted to propose to her at a bench beside the Opera house, as this is where I first asked her out, however we couldn't find parking nearby and ended up on the other side of Circular Quay. I took out a scrapbook I had made of all our memories from the time that we had been dating and read it to Anna before dropping on one knee and asking her to marry me! At first she started crying and I had to ask a second time, and luckily she said yes.
